AEE drafting for NZ planners
Draft AEE sections from the material you already have.
Forward the brief, site details and application material. Dendra drafts the assessment of environmental effects sections you ask for as a Google Doc, grounded in the district plan, for your planner to check, complete and sign off.
- Sections set out under the headings you ask for, as a Google Doc
- Plan provisions cited from official council text, with anything it cannot source marked for you to check
- Revise by replying to the email; your direct edits in the Doc are kept
How it helps
A first draft you can work from, not a black box.
What Dendra prepares
Draft AEE sections for a resource consent application, such as the description of the activity and site, the rules and activity status, the assessment of effects, mitigation, affected persons, and objectives and policies.
Every draft comes back with a short summary and a list of what still needs checking.
Grounded in the plan
Before drafting, Dendra looks up the site and the plan provisions that apply, from its library of council plan text. Every rule or policy number in a draft must appear in a source it was given, or it is marked for you to check.
Plan changes and appeals are flagged so that drafts do not treat a provision as operative before it is.
Refined in the thread
Reply with corrections, extra context or council feedback and Dendra revises the same Doc. If you have edited the Doc directly, those edits are kept. Reply “Approved” when it is ready.
What stays with you
Drafts can contain errors, omissions or out-of-date references. A qualified planner must check every draft and your firm owns the assessment. Dendra does not write specialist technical reports, send anything to council or lodge applications.

Questions
What planners ask us.
Does Dendra write the whole AEE?
Dendra drafts the AEE sections you ask for, as a Google Doc for your planner to check, complete and sign off. It does not produce specialist technical reports, and a qualified planner remains responsible for the assessment.
How is an AEE counted for billing?
One AEE is counted when Dendra delivers the first complete AEE draft for a job, meaning one application for one site. Revisions to that draft are free. It is not counted if the job is abandoned first, if the draft fails Dendra's own quality checks, or if a planner tells us within 7 days, with a reason, that it was not usable.
Does Dendra send the AEE to council?
No. Dendra only replies to your firm's own planners. It does not email councils or clients, and it does not lodge applications.
Which district plans does Dendra use?
The district and city plans of ten Waikato region councils, including Hamilton City and Taupō District, and the Auckland Unitary Plan, built from official council sources. Coverage is expanding.
